Often referred to as the ‘Coronation City’ (33 rulers were crowned at its majestic Notre-Dame Cathedral between 816 and 1825), Reims is one of the liveliest cities in the sparsely populated Marne department. It boasts a rich cultural heritage, plenty of great restaurants and is one of the most important centers in Champagne production. Conveniently located (only 45 minutes from Paris by TGV) it is perfect for a weekend getaway.
