Summer in France is something to be relished. Early walks through the countryside on a fresh, sunny morning; returning from the market with a basket full of culinary inspiration; barbecues with friends and plenty of chilled local wine; outdoor breakfasts with the ripest strawberries; and evening food and wine gatherings in charming villages – there’s so much to enjoy and lift the spirits!
This week’s recipe, a delicate tomato and courgette tarte, is an ode to the summer season. It makes use of gorgeous summer produce and has a light, tender crust that melts in the mouth. But before we move on to the recipe, here are some of my favorite food and drink suggestions for the summer days ahead. I hope these ideas will make your summer especially memorable.
