A beautiful reminder of how female artists are still undermined by society voices and convention.

Certainly in regards of Paris, or France as a whole, one thinks deeply immediately about the past, in my case it's about Proust and Hemingway in Paris among other themes which concern this most fascinating city.

My own thoughts are at the moment for what stands Paris today, how's the evolution going in this fabled city which most likely not only shapes trends from culture, fashion via food and lifestyle, but how does it compare to earlier times or is this simply a fallacy which traps not only us, but the city itself, because of heightened expectations in the future be it from French political influence, architecture incl. the Notre Dame restoration and of course the upcoming Olympics!

Lots of fresh food for indeed fresh thoughts, thanks because of your review of female artists of the 2nd half of the 19th century. May art in the 21st century be a breakout story for female artists and all others who awaken our own desire to dig a bit deeper into this remarkable scene.

Merci beaucoup.
